Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) Program Management
|
IR Tech is supporting the Marine Corps’ Project Manager for Information Systems (PM IS) on the overall management and direction of the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) family of systems. This effort consists of transforming USMC logistics processes and systems to provide a streamlined, re-engineered logistics environment supported by an upgraded information technology infrastructure. Essentially the USMC will create a shared data environment through enterprise level systems utilizing web technology. This effort is expected to cost between $50-$100 million over 5 years. Before IR Tech began this work, GCSS-MC consisted of a number of uncoordinated and largely independent efforts including, business process engineering, pilot programs, and existing system enhancements. For GCSS-MC, IR Tech:
IR Tech is currently leading the Systems Engineering, Cost, and Test working integrated product teams (WIPTs) on behalf of the Program Manager is providing the primary support to the Logistics and Acquisition WIPTs. Within this support IR Tech is establishing the need within the Marine Corps for an organized capability to centrally manage web and enterprise server operations for high availability. Part of this effort requires coordinating with external organizations to establish and promulgate tactical data communications requirements and capabilities needed to meet the needs of the new systems architectures. |
