SAFEBETS

Systems Analysis for Expeditionary Business and Enterprise Transformational Systems (SAFEBETS™) is IR Tech’s new approach to developing expeditionary (Tactical) business systems.

SAFEBETS:

  • Provides an improved requirements process that addresses ‘deployability.’
  • Enables market research that addresses and validates ‘deployability’ issues, i.e. operability within tactical communications environments.
  • Assesses deployed environments – interrelationships with business systems and communications assets (bandwidth, latency).
  • Codifies unique communications operating environments.
  • Lets you know where the users are, what they need to do and when.
  • ‘Stretches’ solution spaces – adapt the infrastructure and the material solution to meet at an optimal, middle ground.
  • Helps build a business case to optimize investments in communications, computers, software, tools, new technologies.
  • Tests solutions to ensure requirements are met.

In response to DoD challenges to ensure business systems are accessible to expeditionary users in deployed austere environments, IR Tech originated an exciting process to satisfy expeditionary user needs. SAFEBETS eliminates guess work and mitigates technical and infrastructure challenges associated with deployed information system users. By using SAFEBETS, system managers can utilize existing information and eliminate complex system business processes and risks normally associated with deployed environments. SAFEBETS reduces the likelihood of increased cost, extended schedule, and reduced Return On Investment (ROI) and increases the likelihood of user satisfaction.

SAFEBETS is a disciplined project management method that combines strict requirements analysis, system engineering, and tactical communications skill sets to document an effective approach to managing the complexity of information systems deployment. SAFEBETS decomposes the expeditionary access problem into distinct “Zones” of operation that explicitly define expeditionary user requirements and functions within supporting networks constraints. The process is not a replacement for existing standards and procedures; it extends them by providing a consolidated tool set to assess technology needs for austere environment operation. SAFEBETS produces acquisition relevant DODAF architecture products and expeditionary system recommendations. SAFEBETS is an organized approach to address performance optimization, cost avoidance and schedule management. SAFEBETS lets Program Managers identify lifecycle system deployment requirements at an early interval. User impact is an on-time capability delivery that satisfies user expectations in expeditionary scenarios.

Early analysis using SAFEBETS indicates that business system program managers may achieve: Between 10%-40% system development cost avoidance; Up to 30% development schedule savings; and increase ROI up to 300% over stated development and deployment costs.
